Transporting steel from Rotterdam to Mumbai is cheaper than from Jamshedpur
It is cheaper to move steel from Rotterdam to Mumbai than from Jamshedpur to the financial capital of India. The freight cost from landlocked Jamshedpur to Mumbai — some 1,700 km apart — can be as high as $50 a tonne, against just $34 a tonne from Rotterdam to Mumbai.
